What ‘haute chocolate’ is to Paris, as Jeffrey Steingarten famously summed it up, so designer chocolate is to Barcelona. Imagine how the city’s famous native son, architect Antoni Gaudi, might have applied his Modernist ideas to chocolate- and you begin to get the picture. It was back in 1900 that Antoni Amatller, owner of Catalonia’s oldest chocolate company- founded in 1798- commissioned Czech artist Alphonse Mucha to design a sensual box for his chocolate coated almonds. This began a happy tradition by which Amatller used Art Nouveau to brighten up its chocolates and turn them into ready-wrapped gifts.

I gifted these chocolates to my co-workers for christmas! They loved it! It melts in your mouth, very different than the US made chocolate.
